THE ALBUM STORY
Work on Take Your Place started in July 2009, when a small group of musicians from CCC’s worship team, led by Pastor Kondo Simfukwe, made the trek to Dark Horse Recording in Nashville, TN. Producer Dave Bechtel, who also produced All We Have (2007), then came to Winona Lake to work with several smaller ensembles and a large choir to fill out the CD.
The album’s title, Take Your Place, comes from the lyrics of two different songs on the CD (track 2, Arise!, and track 3, In This Place), with the “Your” in the title referring both to Jesus Christ, who desires the place of unrivaled preeminence in our hearts, and the Church, who must step up to a place of unashamed proclamation in our world.
Take Your Place is the 4th worship CD CCC has put out, with the goal of blessings others world-wide by sharing our music and other resources. “We believe that corporate worship is, in so many ways, practice for the glory that awaits us [in Heaven]…..a grateful sea of faceless saints shouting the worth of the Lamb,” says Pastor Kondo, the executive producer of the CD and the author of most of the songs on it. “We trust that as Christ is elevated in our midst, His Spirit will evoke from the unbeliever the confession, ‘Surely God is in this place.’”
